When the DSG unit will not read
If the programmer cannot see the unit, the software number will not come from it. What remains is the label on the housing, or the car VIN. The VIN gives the factory software of that car. It cannot recover a unit when even that information is missing.
The label is there
Enter the number in the catalog. That is more reliable than the VIN, because the printing belongs to this housing, not to the car's history.
There is no label
Use the VIN from the body. Check that the unit is the car's own, not one fitted later. Otherwise the factory file may not match the hardware on the bench.
Neither is available
The site will not guess a file. Write to support@dsgsoft.com.ua with whatever you do have: a photo of the housing, an old dump, or data from diagnostics.
Where to do this
A firmware file from the catalog or by VIN costs 20 €. Immo Off together with the VIN change costs 30 €. The download button appears after payment and a copy is sent by email. If that version is not in the database, there is no button. Before writing, match the software number and version to the unit label.
Short answers
Does a file always revive a dead unit?
No. A file does not repair burnt hardware.
Is registration required?
No.
What does the VIN search cost?
The search itself is not charged. The file, if it exists, is 20 €.
