DSGSOFT
These are the jobs workshops bring when they need a gearbox file. That means an original repair firmware, Immo Off and writing a VIN into the dump. Not a tune. Each topic leads to the VIN search, the catalog or the Immo Off form.
DSG firmware is the gearbox control-unit file, not an engine tune. Workshops need it when the mechatronic unit will not read, after a failed write, or when a replacement unit has to go back to the factory software.
The VIN is what you use when the software number on the label cannot be read. It is the 17 characters from the car body. From it the system finds the vehicle and shows the gearbox software number that belongs to it.
The DQ200 is a seven-speed gearbox with a dry clutch. On the mechatronic label the software is usually 0AM or 0CW. 0AM is the familiar first generation, 0CW is the second, used on many MQB cars.
The DQ250 is a six-speed gearbox with a wet clutch. On older cars the software number often starts with 02E. On MQB the same gearbox type often uses 0D9. Those files are not interchangeable.
The DQ381 is a newer seven-speed wet gearbox. The software number on these units usually starts with 0GC. Do not replace it with a DQ250 0D9 file, even though both are wet and both appear on MQB cars.
The DQ500 is a seven-speed wet gearbox for higher torque. Labels show 0BH, 0BT and 0DL. Those are different hardware lines: choose the file by the full software number, not by the word DQ500.
The DL501 is the longitudinal seven-speed S tronic known from Audi. The software number often starts with 0B5. The catalog has a separate DL501 filter.
The DL382 is the newer longitudinal S tronic. Look for 0CJ or 0CK software on the unit. It is not a DL501 0B5 and not a transverse DQ381.
In the catalog the DQ400 has its own filter. It is not inside DQ200 or DQ250. Take the file by the software number and version on the label, or by VIN when the label is missing and you need the car's factory software.
The VL381 is the Multitronic, a CVT, not a dry or wet dual-clutch DSG. The number to start with is 0AW. The catalog gathers it under the VL381 filter.
0AM on the label means first-generation DQ200 software, not every DSG. A short version number usually sits next to it. Enter the full number in the catalog, for example 0AM300065G, or the number and version separated by a space.
0CW is the Gen 2 DQ200. The gearbox can look like an older 0AM from the outside, but the software is different. Search 0CW in the catalog, and choose Gen 2 in the Immo Off form.
02E is the familiar software number of the six-speed wet DQ250 from before the MQB generation. The full number is longer than the letters 02E. Match that full number and the version before writing.
0D9 is the software number of the MQB DQ250. It is easy to mix up with 0GC, because both are fitted to newer VAG cars, but 0GC is the DQ381, the seven-speed.
0GC is the start of DQ381 software. Seven gears, a wet clutch, not the six-speed 0D9. The full number on the label is longer than three characters.
A DQ500 label may show 0BH, 0BT or 0DL. The catalog filter is one list and the files are not the same. Write the number printed on the unit, with its version.
The DSGSOFT catalog holds original gearbox-unit files: the file that matches a software number and version. There is no stage 1, no raised torque and no shift tune.
The catalog is organised by gearbox, not by body brand. The filters are DQ200, DQ250, DQ381, DQ500, DQ400, VL381, VL380, DL501 and DL382. Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seat are looked up here by one software number.
Immo Off is for a mechatronic unit fitted to another car. The immobilizer stays inside the firmware, so the unit will not accept the new car until it is switched off and that car's VIN is written. The site does both from your flash and EEPROM.
On the DQ200 the immobilizer in the firmware follows the unit generation. Gen 1 is 0AM software, Gen 2 is 0CW. Choose the generation in the form before you upload the files.
DQ250 is one tab in the form, for both the older 02E and the MQB 0D9. You do not pick a generation the way you do for a DQ200. Your readout identifies the unit, not someone else's file.
A DQ381, software 0GC, moves to another car the same way: the immobilizer in the firmware is switched off and the destination car's VIN is written into the dump. The form is separate from the DQ250, even though both gearboxes are wet.
On the site, DQ500 Immo Off is one service for this gearbox, whether the label says 0BH, 0BT or 0DL. The form takes the readout of that unit, so you do not substitute a dump from another hardware line.
In the DSG subject, immobilizer off means a mechatronic unit moved onto another car. The engine immobilizer, the key and the instrument panel are not part of it. The site works on the gearbox firmware: DQ200, DQ250, DQ381 or DQ500.
When a unit is fitted to another car, the dump has to carry that car's VIN. On the site the VIN change is not sold apart from Immo Off: both are one service for 30 €.
The dump for this service is the pair of files, flash and EEPROM, read from the unit you are moving. The site writes the new car's VIN into it and switches the immobilizer off in the firmware. Hand editing in a hex editor is not required, and the site does not describe it.
In the Immo Off form the generation switch exists only for the DQ200. Choose Gen 1 for 0AM software and Gen 2 for 0CW. DQ250, DQ381 and DQ500 do not have that switch.
The immobilizer and the VIN in a DSG unit are not held in a single slice of the dump. The form accepts both files from one readout. Flash alone, or a random EEPROM from the catalog, does not make the pair.
Workshops often call a gearbox firmware a BIN. In a DSGSOFT set the file page names the actual parts: flash, internal EEPROM, external EEPROM, full backup. Not every download is a single .bin file.
PCMFlash is the workshop tool used to read and write the gearbox unit. DSGSOFT does not sell PCMFlash, does not pick a module in the software and does not write the unit remotely. We deliver the firmware file by software number or by VIN, when that version is in the database.
Flex reads a full set from the gearbox unit: flash, EEPROM, sometimes one backup. DSGSOFT is not the Flex software and does not drive it. A catalog file is the contents of one software version. Open it in the Flex mode that matches this TCU.
Here the TCU is the gearbox control unit, the electronics of the mechatronic, not the engine unit. TCU firmware is that unit's file. Match it by the software number on the label or by the car VIN.
The mechatronic is the unit on the gearbox that holds the firmware. When it is replaced, or it stops reading, you need the file for its software number, not a file for a Golf or an Octavia by name.
A full backup is the read set of a unit. It is not a promise that every catalog file contains everything. The page names the parts: flash, internal EEPROM, external EEPROM, full backup, and sometimes the read history.
One software number has several versions. The VIN shows them in a list: the current one is marked, with newer and older ones beside it. You can download only a version whose file is in the database.
The software number is the most precise path when the unit still identifies itself, or the number survives in an old dump. Enter it in full in the catalog. If you know the version, add it after a space: that opens one page when the match is unique.
If the programmer cannot see the unit, the software number will not come from it. What remains is the label on the housing, or the car VIN. The VIN gives the factory software of that car. It cannot recover a unit when even that information is missing.
A new or used mechatronic does not automatically contain the old unit's software. First match the hardware and the number that belongs on this car. Then either download the file for that number or, if the unit came from another car, look at Immo Off.
A unit from another car brings its own VIN and its own immobilizer in the firmware. A factory file from the catalog, looked up by the new car's VIN, does not clear that link. For DQ200, DQ250, DQ381 and DQ500 the link is cleared by Immo Off, using a readout of that donor.
A firmware file from the catalog or the VIN search costs 20 €. Immo Off together with the VIN change costs 30 €. The second service is not included in the first.
