DSG mechatronic firmware

The mechatronic is the unit on the gearbox that holds the firmware. When it is replaced, or it stops reading, you need the file for its software number, not a file for a Golf or an Octavia by name.

Where the number comes from

From the label on the housing, or from an earlier readout. If the housing is gone, the body VIN gives the factory software of that car. It will not guess a unit that was already replaced.

A mechatronic unit from another car

First check that the hardware matches. Then either take the file for this unit's number, or, for DQ200, DQ250, DQ381 and DQ500, run Immo Off from the flash and EEPROM you read.

Payment

A file is 20 €. Immo Off is 30 €. They are different orders.

Where to do this

A firmware file from the catalog or by VIN costs 20 €. Immo Off together with the VIN change costs 30 €. The download button appears after payment and a copy is sent by email. If that version is not in the database, there is no button. Before writing, match the software number and version to the unit label.
